It saddens me that the show took such great pains to remove Molly's character from her job as a teacher and then made sure that part of her life is never mentioned again.
It feels to me that the writers were convinced that nobody would be interested in someone who works as a teacher because of course teachers aren't really important or interesting enough.
So instead they made her a writer. Is that because they felt being a writer made her more "respectable? What has happened to Molly's sister, Victoria?
She has gotten so heavy! I am not trying to be cruel, but it is such a stunning change from the fit, svelte woman from years past. I found myself not being able to like Carl anymore after seeing the way he makes constant cruel cracks about people and seems so self centered all the time.
What happened to the sweet, lovable personality he once had? I might get the next season, but I won't have as high expectations as I once did.
One person found this helpful. The final season of one of the better show on TV ever. It started off great for the first couple of season, they the quality dipped downs, but they really picked it up in this fifth season.
Unfortunately, it was only a half season and wish they would have at least finish the season out. They could have had a lot more story lines with a baby now.
The first 4 seasons were really funny, but the 5th season spends too much time on Molly and her writing career and the story lines were too repetitive, boring and not all that funny.
Mike and Molly I would not buy one of a show I did not like. That being said Love me some Mike and Molly for a good laugh.
I adore this television series and was so happy to add Season 5 to my collection. It arrived on time, in great condition, and I haven't had any problems with it to this day.
Laying in bed one night, this show came on that I had never seen. Mike and Molly caught my attention with their bizarre comments, zingers and also the way that they show love for each other.
From that night on, I was hooked. I purchased "every" season and I have to say, it was well worth it. Growing up, I always loved watching the 30 minute shows with my family.
Now, after a long day, I can sit down, relax, put Mike and Molly on, and laugh or cry and enjoy every minute of it. So sad that the show wa cancelled after 6 seasons but I look forward to purchasing that one too when it becomes available.

She really knows how to deliver her lines. Peggy, the mother in law is so well cast she steals the show at times.
The creators have surrounded the main characters with a good cast who do a fine job of supporting the storyline.
This may be the fifth year of this show but the writers continually come up with funny situations that entertain as well as developing well rounded characters.
